It’s amazing to see people from the other side of the planet that are watching our movie and enjoying it.

Then I was amazed seeing the different reactions. That some thought it’s a parody or the cure for Acrophobia. I’m always impressed on the different views and approaches that different people have. And on the different mindsets and how exactly the same thing is interpreted and analyzed in totally different ways.

For me that’s the beauty of filmmaking. You can have an idea on how people will react to it, but you can’t be sure until they have seen the film. Which makes it really interesting.

Interview with Sound Effects Editor Matt Snedecor (Revolutionary Road, The Jinx)

Effects editors are responsible for building the entire sonic environment for a film, everything from backgrounds to the sync effects we see on screen. The majority (90% and up) of the sounds heard in film are added by editors. But it’s more than just see car, hear car. We also need to come up with sounds that identify with characters or moods or that tell stories without the audience having to see something on screen to know what’s happening.

Interview with Screenwriter Simon Kelton (Eddie the Eagle)

First, go online and find as many great screenplays to the movies you have loved and read them carefully. They are often even better than the movie itself. Read classics, read genre, read Oscar winning scripts and the very latest releases. If you then discover you love reading them and feel both a burning desire to give it a go as well as a deep-seated belief that you have visions in your mind that you must share with the world then give it a try. Do not be falsely attracted by any perceived glamour or a quick and easy road to riches. There is no industry in the world more competitive, more confusing, more seductive, and more full of brilliant talent that has yet to find its moment in the sun. Be wary, be strong, be realistic, and then be bold.

I storyboarded the entire film. We drew together to set up certain scenes in pre-production and had a good relationship. We made a low budget film look expensive. We were very meticulous in how we set up each scene.

Interview with Cinematographer Trent Opaloch (Captain America: Civil War)

Trent Opaloch is easily the most talented and sought after cinematographers in the world today. He has DP’d for director Neil Blomkamp on “District 9”, “Elysium”, and “Chappie”, and director’s Anthony & Joe Russo on “Captain America: Winter Soldier”, and the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War”. It was an honor to sit down with him to chat about his career and the art of cinematography.

Interview with Filmmaker A.D. Cooper (ACE)

The FEEDBACK reaction from the audience was Exactly the response I’d hoped for. Positive. Engaged. Subtleties observed e.g. the playing cards. Plus it was good to hear that there was laughter during the screening. Other North American family festivals have rejected it because it they didn’t understand the story – which is baffling. For info, the ‘no fun’ park is actually in Mamaroneck, New York state but we did the filming in west London in the UK.
