I was excited to see the what an audience made of it. You make a film for people to watch and enjoy and it was great to see that your audience responded so well to it. It’s a great idea to do these videos.

It’s always nice to see an audience take the time to talk about the film, in any way. There’s no better way to tell what works and what doesn’t. Here some people were confused about some aspects of the script, but others took it upon themselves to explain it to them. Having random people understand and stand up for the most intricate parts of the script is very gratifying.

I storyboarded the entire film. We drew together to set up certain scenes in pre-production and had a good relationship. We made a low budget film look expensive. We were very meticulous in how we set up each scene.

I’m very proud of the Saw franchise and feel grateful to have had the opportunity to work on it. It a piece of cinema history now. I also have a real fondness for Outlander as it was one of the most epic projects that I’ve done. I had to research it like crazy and learn everything about viking architecture, culture, weaponry etc. We had to build everything, weaponry and huge sets that included a viking village with 22 buildings and an 80 foot Viking ship that was fully practical. The craftsmanship from the whole crew was outstanding in every department. I’ve always loved viking stories and would love to direct a viking feature now.

I was very surprised! There is no other festival that offers this, it’s great! To see the public reaction and to take part in the festival. There was a little debate about the fact that the film was shot in French while the atmosphere is American, it was interesting. I was interested and a little in apprehension. I think it’s very important to laugh about Tiziano’s errors because if you feel guilty to laugh about it it’s because you feel a kind of distance from him and your thought is something like “poor thing, I feel sorry for him and his condition, so I shouldn’t laugh about it”; instead, Daniele taught me that equality goes from here too, you can laugh as long as you can see and appreciate the efforts.

Finding a Steady-Cam rig that I could adapt into a baby carrier. Most of the steady-cams available to rent are not rated for enough weight to hold a child and seat. So I approached quite a few stead-cam operators who have their own rigs to do it and they all said no, they didn’t want any kids dangling from their gear – understandably so. I eventually did find a glidecam for rental that was rated to 35lbs and we were off and running – or walking slowly.
