1. What motivated you to make this film?
A close friend of mine had seen another short film of mine and asked if I was writing anything new and needed a kid. Her son wanted to become an actor and needed some footage for his reel. I’ve known him since he was born and know him pretty well and started writing for what I thought he could really hit it out of the park. Took a little influence from the fact that he is an only child with a single mother and how he might handle a dopey guy coming to pick up his mom for a date.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
about six to eight weeks
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
It’s always the writing. Until the script is in a place where I’m comfortable and happy with it I can’t go any further. If the writings not there I can’t plan shoot dates, ask friends to read it or act in it.
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
I’m nervous because I want them to like it and all the was positive which is a huge relief. Compliments on the shooting and editing and writing and performances was very uplifting. I do wonder if negative comments were just not shared to keep the feedback positive.

6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
When I had the simple outline put together I knew it would be fun and a one day shoot.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
Blues Brothers, but that is because it was one of three VCR tapes my family owned growing up.
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
Mostly, positive but I’ve realized some festivals are not worth it.
10. What is your favorite meal?
A big ass burrito.
11. What is next for you? A new film?
Writing my next film, trying to challenge myself with a more poignant topic and theme with a large scale. We’ll see.
