Interview with Filmmaker Trevor Courtney (THE ROCKER AND THE PUCA)

THE ROCKER AND THE PUCA was the winner of BEST SOUND & MUSIC at the June 2022 FANTASY/SCI-FI Festival.

1. What motivated you to make this film?

A Love of the Old Irish Tales

2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?

6 Years in total – from the first draft script to getting it funded to finally finishing production.

3. How would you describe your film in two words!?

Irish Tale

4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?

Covid – we had to post around the puppets to different places to get costumes and them and photographed etc.. and they kept getting lost in the post.

5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?

Just cool seeing people not from Ireland enjoying it.

6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?

When my brother asked me what I wanted to do when I was 14.

7. What film have you seen the most in your life?

Rocky 1
