1) What is the theme of your poem?
This poem is about a woman’s quest for truth that begins to reveal itself only after she begins to break down the fabricated structure that binds us to life as we know it; the belief system that has been constructed to conceal the truth. Once she broke down those barriers and shed those beliefs that have been instilled since birth, she began to use her intuition that she didn’t even know she had and discovers that not only is truth much stranger than fiction, but the answers can be found flowing abundently right there in her very own veins.
2) What motivated you to write this poem?
The words just came to me. It was almost as if I tapped into an alternate source of energy and channeled the words that became this poem. That’s how most of my poems come to life, I feel the words and write them down. Sometimes I wonder if I was even the one who actually wrote them haha.
3) How long have you been writing poetry?
All my life I’ve enjoyed writing, but I began writing as a profession about 5 years ago.
4) If you could have dinner with one person (dead or alive), who would that be?
I would have to say my first cousin, Shakespeare. When my great grandparents were still alive they would share stories during the holidays about his life that were passed down from many generations before them. Little did I know that I would become a writer of poetry myself oneday. Considering he is the only writer in my family besides myself, I would love to hear what inspired him to compose his stories that today, are regarded as creations composed from the greatest English writer and dramatist of all time.
5) What influenced you to submit to have your poetry performed by a professional actor?
I love being able to watch my words come to life through alternative forms of artistic expression.
6) Do you write other works? scripts? Short Stories? Etc..?
Yes, I am currently writing a fiction novel and enjoy writing short stories as well that just may surface sometime in the near future. 😀
7) What is your passion in life?
My passion in life is helping others to heal themselves and rediscover who they truly are at their deepest core through both Hypnotherapy and by example; living my own life in truth and love.
Watch the POETRY Reading:
By Kelly Loraine Stearns
collecting old keys
seeking answers unseen
lost in a puzzle
of amnesiac complexities
the clock chants why
timeless moments pass her by
orchestrating a symphony
of a perpetual dream
echoing particles of dust
a young womans demure
shatters the silent voice in rust
iron oxide leaves behind
hypnotic tales forgotten in time
fueling visions through the fog
stepping through portals
as sleep conducts the beat.
insomnia is a friend
when reality seems to creep
envoking images of forever
translated through synchronicity
rain is the epiphany
enclosing her forgotten destiny
only through the eyes of translucent beings
will rust reveal infinity.
