Interview with Writer Neil Plakcy (Twitter Short Story)

Matthew Toffolo: gave you the idea to write this very short story?

Neil Plakcy: My first golden retriever, Samwise, who inspired my golden retriever mystery series, was always getting into trouble, nosing around and eating stuff he shouldn’t. Seeing that stuff come out the front or the back was always gross.

2) How many stories/screenplays have you written?

I have written 23 mystery novels in three different series, 22 gay romance novels, and a bunch of short story collections. Also a couple of unproduced screenplays.

3) What movie have you watched the most times in your life?

My favorite is With Six You Get Eggroll, with Doris Day and Brian Keith, and a host of other actors at early points in their careers. And a dog!

4) What’s your favorite thing about twitter? What’s your least favorite thing about twitter?

My favorite thing about Twitter is following leads from tweets so learn all kinds of cool stuff. Least favorite is figuring out how to get people out of my feed who don’t interest me.

5) Who would you really like to have dinner with? (dead or alive)

Jimmy Buffett. Love his music and his writing and his lifestyle. I’ve seen him in concert a bunch of times and watched lots of videos of him, and he seems like such a cool guy.

FINGER, by Neil Plakcy

Something in my dog’s vomit looks human.
Like a finger. With nail polish.
He must have eaten it while we were walking.
This dog gets into more trouble than a bunch of monkeys on crack
Oh shit. Our next door neighbor paints stars on her nails like this
I’d better take him out to poop again.
