Get to know the filmmaker:

1. What motivated you to make this film?

I was looking to do something interesting after my last short. I had just finished writing Restless as a feature and I wanted to use it as a pitch to fund the larger project. The part that i turned into a short is actually just an introduction to Rebel and as redemptive as it was in the short, the feature version is very different.

2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?

It took about a year and half. I could have pushed to make it quicker ,but I made that mistake with my last short and wanted to do it right this time. Sometimes applying pressure to something doesnt always go the way you want it to.

3. How would you describe your film in two words!?

Neo Noir

4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?

It was really hard finding the right actors. Many of them liked the script , but were uncomfortable with the subject matter. Thankfully I found ones that were unique, willing and passionate about the project.

5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?

It was amazing. I honestly feel that it was much more rewarding than the Laurels that most festivals offer.

6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?

I have writing for years, so transitioning into making films just seemed natural. So i guess writing got me into making films. Its also just a great way to express yourself…a very expensive way to express yourself haha.

7. What film have you seen the most in your life?

Ghost in the Shell(Anime)

8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other
festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?

This is my first experience with this festival and its been a great one, so I cant really say at the moment.

9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your
experiences been working on the festival platform site?

Film Freeway is very streamlined and convenient.

10. What is your favorite meal?

I am fiend for a Ham and Cheese Sandwich.

11. What is next for you? A new film?

Looking to do a few more shorts before I can make my way into a feature. Something lighter and more fun. Nothing on the horizon however.
