MR. GREEN BEAN AND MR REDHEAD was the winner of BEST ANIMATION at the July 2022 DIVERSITY Film Festival.
1. What motivated you to make this film?
My motivation was the challenge of making a short animated video that was fun yet had some historical references and characters that both kids and adults could enjoy. Also, the motivation was to just enjoy the creative process.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
It took about a year and one-half. The team worked diligently but it was a side project.
3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
Quirky fun
4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
The biggest challenge was to edit the video into a crisp storyline that did not drag on too long.
5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?
Seeing the feedback brought encouragement to complete more music that would be suitable for animation.

6. When did you realize that you wanted to make films?
I did not realize I wanted to be involved in animated films until later in life as I had more time for music composition and then find a way to surround myself with a creative team.
7. What film have you seen the most in your life?
The Sound of Music, my partner has it on continually for the comfort of the music and characters.
8. What other elements of the festival experience can we and other festivals implement to satisfy you and help you further your filmmaking career?
Your festival provides exposure to aspiring people in the video field and any additional ways that can assist in marketing is helpful.
9. You submitted to the festival via FilmFreeway. How has your experiences been working on the festival platform site?
Film Freeway platform is easy to use and useful to expand our horizons.
10. What is your favorite meal?
Favorite meal would be green beans and tomato salad; just kidding since those are the vegie characters.
Yet, a fresh garden salad is one of the favorites
11. What is next for you? A new film?
Ideas for new music which may lead to another animated film are percolating; as I sit at the piano on this hot summer day.
