Interview with Novelist Rob Buckman (TIGER-TIGER)

1. What is your novel about?

From the moment he woke up in the center of the strange meadow, all Andrew MacFarland could think to say was, “What the bloody hell is going on!” as nothing made sense. At 65 year old and 50 pounds overweight, you don’t go running around the bush like a damn teenager, yet that’s exactly, what he was doing, so he had to be dreaming; at least that’s what he tried to tell himself. Nothing was right, not the trees, flowers or insects. His bum knees and back, from old wounds should be playing merry hell but weren’t, but, as crazy as this situation was, that wasn’t the worst of it. Somewhere behind him someone, someone he couldn’t see was trying to kill him…

‘Door into Summer’ Robert A. Heinlein. American science fiction author

7. What motivated you to write this story?

A different view of alien abduction and first contact

8. If you could have dinner with one person (dead or alive), who would that be?

Joseph Cambell – Professor of literature at Sarah Lawrence College

9. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Reading – Gold mining – Photography – Space exploration

10. What influenced you to enter your story to get performed?

Turning my story from words into speech for those who, for one reason, can’t read.

11. Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

If you want to be a writer, sit down and write. It doesn’t matter what or how you write, just write and keep on writing no matter what.
